Before we go into my Perpetual Church Fundraising Blueprint I must share with you some commonalities I have found amongst nearly all churches, large or small, when speaking about church fundraising ideas.
- There seems to always be more mission based wants or needs than resources.
- If they had more in the offering plate they could do so much more good.
- They don’t want to ask the congregation for any more monetary giving, and everyone from Pastor down is SICK of the word FUNDRAISING.
Goals
When I consult with Churches and their Deacons, I always start with questions like, what is your mission? What is this church all about? Who do you serve? (other than the Lord), and WHAT DO YOU NEED? Yes! What does the Church need to the to grow its mission?
MORE MONEY!
Time is valuable so I am going to share with you the basic strategy I share with all of our church partners.
How to structure something that………
- Doesn’t Cost Any Money Up Front.
- Involves as few staff or volunteer hours as possible?
- Generates Perpetual sources of funding without asking for more money from the same people.
Would we all agree those are some important goals, but not always easy to accomplish?
Church Fundraising Ideas DO NOT have to be Unpleasant
When bringing up the topic “Church Fundraising Ideas” to your tribe it DOES NOT have to be unpleasant.
Fundraising has gained a stigma due to the normal practices. They go something like this, “Hey Mr. Smith, will you help me get to church camp this summer by buying….” some overpriced candy, or some catalog with knick knacks that are overpriced as well.
